stuck up , not rich any more , eventer , instructor , bloody judgmental ,
Alfred Finch was born into a family of wealth. His father was a real estate entrepreneur who started business after business and became quite wealthy. By the time that Alfred came to be, his father already had reached the ten million mark, and became richer and richer. His mother, a meek, pretty woman who had been selected as a wife for no reason other than her looks, stayed out of his childhood in Washington, hiring nurses to do the dirty work for her. Alfie attended the very best schools, and went on to get a double degree in French and Business, just because he felt like it. From when he was a small child, he preferred the company of animals to humans, and so riding seemed to be a suitable sport choice for him. He became better and better, choosing to focus on eventing and jumpers. Alfie was competing at 3* at his peak, aged 21.
At school, and later at Uni, Alfie gained a reputation as a heart breaker- buying women expensive gifts to woo them into bed, and then leaving them hanging. He never particularly liked committing to a relationship.
When he was 22, his father had a massive heart attack, aged 55, and died. Finding over 40 million dollars in his bank account, he set about living the good life. He bought cars and houses but mostly horses, and mostly expensive ones of those. A year later, there was a massive police investigation into his father's money, and finding that he had made a lot of his money through tax evasion and illegal labor, Alfie's inheritance was taken off him. Now, without a penny to his name, a feeling that Alfie was not familiar with, he called up a stable in Florida, the owner of which had once offered him a working position there, should he want to take it. At the time he turned up his nose at this offer, but now, he would have grovelled over the telephone. Luckily, he didn't have too. Sam remembered how well he could ride, and offered him a position as an eventing instructor, specializing in the jumping side of things. Also, much to Alfie's delight, he offered on-site accommodation as part of his pay.
Alfie has just arrived in Florida. He is looking for everything, pretty much. Friends come, if they are rich. Enemies come easier, if they are not. Flings are his style, relationships are not. He still is in rich kid mindset, meaning that if he doesn't think you are worth his time, he will tell you. He is also looking for students, and although he is not a particularly nice instructor, he is good. He has a good eye and can tell what needs fixing.
