brief personality: sam is everything a great business man should be: reserved, professional, and level-headed. of course, he doesn't particularly like to think of himself as a business man, but you can't get away from the facts. since his divorce from his wife ten years ago, he lost some of his personality. in fact, he lost MOST of his personality, aside from the slight competitiveness he develops when riding. even then, though, it is nothing huge, nothing like the way he was so many years ago. he retained his kind heart, however, and does have a compassion for the animals he knows so well, and even some of the people that work around him. sam is an easy man to work for because he understands. he's an even easier man to be taught by because he knows the limits of his riders and their horses. he knows a bad day when he sees one and won't push it, but he also knows the potential of a rider and will push that. he's a very honest person (one of the few) and expects honesty from his workers and riders. lying, cheating, or any forms of sneakiness are not tolerated by him and any of those will automatically put you on his bad side. besides that, though, he is by no means a hard person to get along with. a bit quiet, yes, and most certainly distant in the way of intimate relationships, but friendly enough.
