[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify][/font]first off, welcome to edge of glory! we appreciate you joining us and hope you enjoy your time. i know nobody likes rules, but i promise to keep things as short and easy as possible for you.
when registering, you may use whatever login in name you'd like. when you are registered, activated, and all of those good things, we'd appreciate if you changed your display name to your character's first middle and last name in all lowercase.
please no out of character fighting; we understand you are not going to love everyone, but if you do have a problem with someone, just ignore them. if somebody is consistently bothering you, speak to an admin about it and it will be handled accordingly.
as for image sizes; i would prefer it if avatars were no bigger than 150 x 200 and no smaller than 100 x 100 and signatures no wider than 500 px. if a staff looks at your avatar or signature and sees that the sizing rules have not been followed, they have every right to ask you to change it. if i see that it hasn't been changed within a week of being asked, i will simply remove it.
no spamming in the c-box; this includes posting more than 5 messages in a row, advertising, etc. if you want to advertise, we have a board for that.

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify][/font]when applying, be sure to use the form we provided. we promise it's extremely short and it's really only there to give people some info on your character.
if something on the application doesn't apply to your character, feel free to leave it blank. if it's something like a personality, you are required to fill that out.
after you finish your application, whether it has been accepted at that time or not, head over to the face claim and who's who and get those out of the way.
we ask that you not post in character before you have been accepted. feel free to post out of character and introduce yourself to everyone though.

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify][/font]when posting, please refrain from chat speak. it looks untidy and is often hard to understand.
our minimum word count is 150 words, but we understand if you're having a bad day. if that's the case, put up as much as you can and just continue the next day. the person you're posting with will understand.
we are only human, so we will make spelling and grammatical mistakes. that's why they have spell check! so use it, and read over your posts before posting it.
we also have proboards enhanced and the justify code enabled, so feel free to use these to spiff up your posts.

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify][/font]you may have as many characters as you can keep active, but be sure to create a new account for each of them.
for every three female characters you create, you must make one male. we will be enforcing this rule to be sure that gender ratios stay somewhat even.
your character may have a MAXIMUM of four horses. this will keep things realistic! honestly, how many twenty-some year olds are running around with ten showing horses, are able to pay board at a high quality barn for all of them, AND find the time to ride them and keep them fit? it just doesn't happen in real life, so it's not happening on here.
stallions are okay, as long as there isn't an abundance of them. if i see that happening, i'll have to start putting a ban on them.
keep in mind heights, colors, and disciplines when creating your character's horses. there are no grand prix jumping shires, nor are there 17 hand shetland ponies. just keep it realistic and we won't bother you.

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify][/font]edge of glory offers showing for many english events. if you read everything under the important information board, you would know specifically which ones. if you haven't, we encourage you to do that now.
showing will be randomized to keep things fair and completely unbiased. this being said, do not come to us and complain because you didn't win. we have no control over who wins and who loses. however, if we notice that somebody is consistently losing for some reason, we will modify the placings slightly to make it fair for that person.
shows will hopefully be run every week. please forgive us if we can't get one up every week; some of us do have lives outside of the internet. chances are though, if our usual person who does shows can't do one that week, i will take over and a show will be run.
there is much more to showing at EOG, though, so you must read this thread if you want to fully understand it and take part in it.
