What is it about this stupid black dress, that I find attractive? Alexandra shook her head, the black fabric dug into the skin beneath her rump, the shoulder pads seemed to be squeezing her breast together in a “look at me” way. Alex shifted uncomfortably in the dress, her bracelet sliding down to hang around her skinny, bonny wrist. She gave the golden bow bracelet a unsatisfied look, “why am I wearing you again” look, clawing at it with her short, non-manicured nails. “But it was not your fault but mines” flew out of the bar, the familiar lyrics caused Alexandra to show her teeth in a small friendly smile. “ Oh, I love this song…Mumford and Sons, really the best.” She said to no one in particular. She threw her white jacket over her shoulder, turning back to her taxi driver with a cunning smile. “That will be ten dollars, please.” Alexandra threw him a twenty, skipping across the sidewalk, waving to a passing car. “Miss! Your money!” she could hear the awe struck man yelling. She turned back with a laugh, and a dazzlingly smile, “Keep it, I’m sure you get “stiffed” often enough.” She said referring to those to drunk to pay. Alexandra gave him a wave, and one last smile before pulling open the door to the bar. Alexandra quickly handed “Joey” her fake ID, with a plastering smile. Joey knew her, she came her often for a mid-night drink or two, however he was unaware of her young age. “Hey, Alex. Dry martini as usual? Or are we going for hard liquor tonight?” He said with a small smile. Alex shook her head, outstretching her hand, waiting for her ID to put placed back in her palm. Joey hesitated for a second, before sliding the ID down on the table. “Joey, dear! I want the usual, after all it’s a usual Tuesday night is it not? And I have lessons tomorrow morning, none the less.” Alex said with a bright smile, aching her left eyebrow in a questioning manner. Joey nodded, smiled and pranced off to go make her a drink. Only moments later he returned with extra olives for her, just as she asked nearly every night. “There you go. You know the drill, three bucks please.” Joey offered a outstretched hand, giving her a cunning, annoying look. Alex’s hands flew to her purse, quickly pulling a ten dollar bill out of her wallet, and handing it to him. “Keep it coming, ok dear?” She said with a flourish of her hand, and a quick drink, a smile and a quick look around. Nothing usual sat anywhere near her. Joey smiled, nodded and wandered off to serve others.
Alexandra fiddled with her bracelet when a rather gorgeous guy walked through the door of the bar. Blonde, blue eyes, slim. Alexandra turned her head, watching as he gave her a double look, a smile and then a hand wave. A hand wave? Alex blushed, who the hell is he? She was about to raise he hand to wave back when she realized he was waving at a man sitting beside her. The amazing blonde boy, skipped over to the man, giving him a kiss on the cheek and a rather loving gaze. “Sorry, got caught up in traffic. Bartender, I will have a girly drink please!” He screamed at Joey, not in an aggressive way but really just very loud liberate way. “Oh hey, darling.” He said looking at Alexandra with a smile. “Have a pick up line for me, do you? “ He said with a smile although it was obvious he was with someone, someone who happened to be sitting right behind him, but obviously knew he was joking. Alexandra gave him a small smile, forcing herself to stop playing with her bracelet. “Wouldn’t dream of trying to charm you. You see, we are past pick up lines. Our relationship is much more…mature.” She said with a laugh, the blonde smiled, turning back to his partner. “Did you hear this? This girl is amazing. Charming really.” He said with a slight weight shift, to indicated the red-head behind him. “Dresses nice too. Darling, are we at a club. I think not.” He said. “Oh no, you see I was just at the club, darling club really.” Another smile, the blonde and his friend moved a stool over. Another smile from the blonde, before he passed her a dry martini. “Club?” His partner said. “I’m Anthony, and this…” he pointed to his blonde friend. “this is Teddy.” He laughed. Placing his hand on her shoulder. “Now darling, what’s your name?” Alexandra smiled, cocking her head to the side, and raising her drink to her lips, draining the glass quickly. “Alexandra, but call me Alex if you want, dear.”
