“But I‘ll find strength in pain.”
Name;; Grayson Anderson Connor -- Jake Gyllenhaal
Age;; twenty-two
Gender;; male
Sexual Orientation;; heterosexual
“I know the shame in your defeat.”
Who the fuck are you?;; He is plain. So very plain. Grayson, is rather a grey person, to be completely serious. He doesn’t find many things funny, except for sarcasm in which he likes very much. Most of the words that come from his mouth are laced with sarcasm. As you can imagine, this gets annoying over time. Most find him “visually striking.” I must say myself that he is a handsome devil. He is rather “plain” yes, not very exciting man. He has a simple love for horses, music and art. Most of the time you will see him listening to Mumford and Sons, or Chromeo, or something close to them, (Cold War Kids, MGMT, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs;) He isn’t the type to express his feelings openly. Most of the time if someone asks him how he is feeling, he will tell them plain out, but he never reveals his feelings unless asked to. He is the type to sit in the corner of the bar, not wanting to be approached, but wanting attention. He attracts most, but really doesn’t have the time for a lover unless she fits into his life, he doesn’t ever really make an effort to go out of his way for a girl. He learned his lesson, going after girls is useless, when they always come to him anyways. At times he can have a very lost puppy look on his face, but he himself is never so. He is always smiling, which is odd for such a plain man. He is a charmer, but however plain he may be. He is plain in the sense of his personality, but not what he does. He can be outgoing, and usually busy with his life. He enjoys anything that has to do with water, swimming, surfing and snorkeling. He hates to have to do office work, so he works at the local bar, most call the “Burger and Beer Joint.” He whips up drinks for buyers, but usually doesn’t say a word unless asking for an ID or money, or if asked to call a taxi for a particularly drunk man or woman. Despite how plain he is, he does get lonely. Of course, everyone does. He has lots of friends, however none that really understand him, or really like him. He can be hard to get along with at times, but is truly a sweet heart, and loving caring person. Even though nobody really sticks around to see his adventurous, charming and witty side. Most write him off as a dork within the first 10 minutes despite his handsome features, and charming smile. Usually when you get to know him better you will discover that he is rather talkative, and creative, even though not in an art like way. He is a part time writer, and a quiet observer of most. He is someone like a sponge, soaking up information of others but rarely giving any in return. Some think he is a jerk because of how quiet he is, some think he is just…odd. Grayson isn’t really odd, he is just so normally normal that it may seem odd to those that try to make more of themselves. He is who he is, and that satisfies him, an easy thing really. He doesn’t ask for much, a nice house, a nice horse (Lucy) and a nice girl to bring home to the folks, that’s all really. Has he found that yet, partly. He does tend to cuss when you piss him off, which is hard, and most try but fail. He seems to be laughing at the world around him, and he is. He doesn’t like what he see’s normally.
He doesn’t ask for much (again). A girl? Maybe. If he could find the right woman to see him for who he is: a charming, relative, kind, loving human being. He is a very comforting human being to be around once you’ve known him and sort of broken his nutshell (if you catch on to my meaning.). He loves it when people try to figure him out, it makes him feel more mysterious of course. If people really just saw him as plain, what would be the fun? People see him as odd, when he is just plain. Some people don’t like this, so they don’t stick around. Its odd to Grayson when people try to figure others out, satisfying yes, but necessary, no. He constantly is wondering why people aren’t happy with what they have, its normal to want more…he often does. But he loves his life. He isn’t the type to plan ahead of things, most of the time he just goes with it. He isn’t usually one to protest against something unless its worth it, in most cases its not, others just annoy him with there useless arguments. He has had relationships before with women, but usually they cheat, or he does (can’t blame him in most cases.) Or they get in a fight, or they just grow apart. Its completely normal human behavior. Most don’t like the way he doesn’t have a plan for his life. Why should he? Its his life, and he wants to run it in the most natural way to him, which is day by day. He doesn’t usually make a fool out of himself by getting mad over something stupid, he isn’t like that. Most people he talks to just make him more relaxed with there problems, it reminds him of how little worries he has. He doesn’t have to worry about money, he has a job, and his parents send him a worthy monthly “allowance” to keep him going. He doesn’t have to worry about friends, he has got plenty of them really. Women usually come to him, so not a worry either. However, he feels that he is constantly lonely, maybe its because his parents live far way, and they were close. Maybe its because he can’t seem to find anyone to stick around with him very long, or even make it to his bed. (Well, at least not for a second time, seeing as most of the time the same woman bores him.) He sees simple qualities in people, and considers all people to be different from one another, maybe that’s why he can’t find someone to cooperate with him. He really has no idea. He needs someone to bring out the best in him. I wouldn’t say he is lost, just not found yet.
He is a drinker, after hours are through at the bar, he tends to drink. Not to the point of dying, he is careful with himself, and he lives so close to the bar than he usually just walks back and forth to work. Despite his drinking, he has never got into alcohol related trouble, or injuries. He is usually very careful about how much he drinks, usually just over the “I’m drunk” slurring speech limit. He has a right mind, he knows when its time for him to stop, and go home. Most of the time that’s only an hour after the bar closes for the night, and Grayson slips himself and his work buddies a drink or two. He has been known to do some pretty stupid “hook ups” when drunk, or say a very stupid pick up line or maybe even seduce someone he can barely see in the night light. But he usually fixes it in the morning.
“Rolling around in the dirt.”
I can‘t see your face behind your walls;; He is handsome, plain, but handsome. Grayson’s tall, lean body is slightly tanner, seeing the time he spends in the sun.
“Don’t cover yourself with thistle and leaves.”
